Cruiser Spring Cup

Cruiser 2nd/3rd April

The J/24 spring cup was a held last weekend the 9th and 10th.It was deemed a huge success by all. Thirty sailors on six boats battled through nine races in various conditions. Saturday saw seven races held with a short break after race three for soup and sandwiches.
The races where held in front of the club and involved a windward leeward course involving two beats and two runs. Due to the shortness of each race racing was close and exciting. Newcomer jaywalker provided increasing stiff competition for the exciting j’s especially javelin. Jaws, Jester and Sydney frequently changed position through out the seven races. But Jeb Stuarts team ruled strongest with five firsts out of seven. Sunday saw two longer traditional races sailed on the main lake. Jester sailed very well and pushed Jeb all the way around the course. But Jeb managed to hold out and win both of the races on Sunday. Many thanks to the OD Christine Mannion and her helpers and Mai Mannion for the food on Saturday.
