Among the skills that we can hone over the winter are knotwork and splicing. Over the next few weeks, we plan to meet at the club to share our knowledge on splicing and knots. We will start with the essential knots for sailing and traditional 3 strand splicing. Over the following weeks, we can look at the materials and tools for splicing and whipping, moving on to splicing the newer materials such as vectran and dyneema. We can also look at making soft shackles. These sessions are intended for us all to share our knowledge. So whether you are completely new to this or are very experienced and would like to share your experience, we would be delighted if you'd come along.
