Welcome to the LRYC Junior Sailing Course 2022.

We are delighted to announce we will be running a full course again this year for all levels and we very much hope that the days of Covid restrictions are behind us. There has been increased interest in the sailing course over the past few years. To match the site, rescue boat and hire boat capacity, we are aiming to keep the numbers to approximately 110 participants in any one week, at any time. Current club members will be prioritised in the event of over subscription. To assist with the capacity limits, we are offering two options for the two week ½ day Cara na Mara levels (Otters age 7 and Seals age 8) – from July 4 th to 15 th Morning or Afternoon sessions. Please book for your preferred two week option. We regret, we cannot guarantee this selection until demand and ratios of instructors to participants can be finalised. Again current club members will be prioritised in the event of over subscription.

Specific H&S information and conditions relating to our Junior Sailing Course will be available closer to commencement.

We expect to run a large course this year and although we expect and hope Covid restrictions will not be required, some of the measures we have had in place over the last two years have assisted us in running a well organised course. We expect to maintain some of these practices this year;

  • Dedicated pods / instructors / rescue boat arrangements
  • Strict drop off and collection regimes
  • Arrive dressed for sailing
These measures will be confirmed and explained in detail closer to the course commencement in July.

NOTE - completed application form does not guarantee a place on the course. This will come into effect when the ratios of instructors to participants is finalised.

Online Entry is now closed, please contact Oonagh Reid/Leah Cullen juniorsailingcourse@outlook.com if you have any questions
